Needless to say it was very expensive weekend; this image shows a broken Carrillo con rod - unusual in itself - and a slightly second-hand Venolia piston, the result of a flywheel explosion. This persuaded us to replace the standard Norton cast-iron flywheels with custom-made steel units which Derek managed to produce in his job as a machinist for a local Bedford company.
